2012 Recap

Good thing one of my goals for 2012 wasn't to write on my blog, pretty sure it would've been an epic fail with a total of five posts in 2012. One of my goals for 2013, however, is to write on my blog, mostly to give people an update (not to mention to document things...) on what I can already tell is going to be a life-changing year.

So let's start with an update on 2012, which was also a life-changing year. My top memories from 2012 (and this year I'll work on taking and posting pictures).

I'm having a baby! By far the most incredible thing of 2012 was finding out that I was pregnant in July. And then finding out that we are having a little boy. And this is one of the main reasons I've decided to start writing on my blog again - I have to start documenting things that happen in my life.

We bought our first home in December. It's a 3-bedroom townhouse in Alexandria and we LOVE it. I decided one day that I didn't want to try and have a baby in our little apartment and two weeks later, voila, we'd bought a house.

I was given the opportunity to be a leader at girls camp in July and fell in love with the youth, especially my girls, all over again. I was recently called to be the YCL specialist on the stake level and couldn't be more excited, though I'm a little nervous about I'll pull it all off with a new baby. But anything is possible and the girls will make it all worth it.

Vacations, vacations, vacations. We went on so many awesome vacations in 2012 including a weekend trip to see Marielle and her family in Seattle, numerous trips to Kansas and Texas to visit family, and a week-long trip with just Richie and me to Greece and Turkey. I loved all of them but wouldn't recommend going to a foreign country on vacation in your first trimester.

That about sums up 2012 and I can't wait to top it in 2013 with getting our townhouse settled, my little sister leaving on her mission to the Philippines in February, the addition of our baby boy in March, lots of parties/trainings with my YCLs for girls camp, and all sorts of family vacations this summer!

Congrats on the baby! I had to laugh at your comment on traveling in your first trimester. We did a 2 week Europe trip in my first semester with Mason. When I came back everyone was like, "Wasn't the food great in Italy/France, etc?!" In reality I could barely eat anything and couldn't eat another piece of bread if you paid me! Next time we go, i'll enjoy the food :)
