What I'll Do for Motivation

I'm running another half-marathon in less than a month and I haven't run once since the marathon six weeks ago. Not the best training plan. So yesterday I made a bet with my little sister, dad (who runs constantly), and brother that I could run as many, if not more, days than they could between now and January 5th. If I lose, I shell out $100 to whoever beats me.

I first started running in 2004 because my sister-in-law laughed when I said that I was going to run 5x a week until her wedding. I did it and have been running off and on ever since. It's about time to get back into a routine of running regularly and I figure nothing else has motivated me, so why not try out a full-fledged competition. It worked once before and hopefully it'll work this time. My new routine starts with a morning run tomorrow. Between my running bet and my new eating plan, I'm hoping to lose the five pounds I'm guaranteed to gain on the cruise in January.

Here goes nothing.

My Craftiness for 2011

I saw this idea on Pinterest over Thanksgiving break and decided it was about time I break out the Christmas stamps, ribbon, and craft supplies I bought last year. And unlike so many of the other crafty ideas I've tried in the past, I didn't fail miserably. I think this idea might just stick because brown paper packaging (craft paper) is cheaper than wrapping paper and this was not only fun but fairly simple. And who doesn't love a red-nosed Rudolph?
