Last week I started off my
two-month fitness competition, and for how out of shape I am right now, it actually went fairly well.
The Bad:
- I couldn't resist the turtle cheesecake at girl's night, or the Potbelly cookie at lunch, or the chocolate chip cupcake during date night. Apparently I'm a social sweet-tooth.
- I never eat enough protein. Carbs are easy but I have to force myself to eat turkey, eggs, cheese...
- I only made it through 15 minutes of Jillian before I got overheated and had to stop.
- And the next night I threw up after my three mile run (not right after...).
And the Good:
- I remembered my love for fresh fruits and veggies.
- I walked by the candy jar at the office without taking a piece. Over and over again.
- I worked out five of the seven days (and three of those were runs)
- And...I lost three pounds
Yes, I'd say it was a pretty good week. We had turkey meatballs with edamame, baked almond chicken with wild rice, grilled chicken with herbed quinoa, and grilled shrimp and asparagus with baked sweet potato fries.
This week I'm going to be even better by saying no to cookies and working out even longer.
