The Day I Almost Had a Heart Attack

There is something to be said about being prepared for a test, as in I've already taken the test once so I've seen the questions even though I couldn't finish because the computers shut down prepared. Going into my exam on Tuesday I felt pretty ready. Going in yesterday I felt extremely ready.

But somehow when I was going to hit the End Exam button because I was tired and just wanted to be done with the whole thing, my heart started pounding so hard that it was physically painful, not to mention exhausting. And then of course after 30 seconds it pops up a survey on the test taking experience so I had to wait for my results even longer (a whole minute, it was pretty tough).

In the end I saw the congraulations I was hoping for and all of the heart pounding was about nothing. But for that minute, I really did think that there was a possibility I'd failed the exam. I'm not sure my heart could've taken much more.

Finally, An Update

I'm still not sure where the summer went but now that it's the middle of October I guess everyone deserves an update on the past few months. Let's just start out with the most exciting news...

Richie passed the bar!!!

He can now officially practice law in VA. And onto a little less exciting but still very exciting note, we picked out half-marathon #10 (can't believe we're already on 10). Maui Oceanfront half-marathon here we come. That's right...

...we're going to Hawaii in January.

Plane tickets are already purchased so whether we run or not, we're going. In not quite as exciting but still fun news, work has slowed down a lot lately so I get to go home at night.

I'm playing on a coed volleyball team.

I haven't played on a team in four years and forgot how much I missed volleyball until I started playing again. Better even is that the team is awesome, really just awesome. I may go through withdrawal when the season is over.

Oh and for those of you who were wondering about my test on Tuesday...I got through question 160 of 200...

...and the server crashed.

So they canceled all of the tests for the day (including a number of people taking their medical boards) and I have to retake it on Friday. Kind of frustrating but I guess I should be grateful for the realistic dry run of the test.

And that's it really. We've been loving the beautiful fall weather, using lots of Groupons for fun date nights, and really just enjoying the extra time we have right now to hang out before Richie starts working crazy hours for good.

Wishing and Hoping, Thinking and Praying

This is one of those weeks where all I can do is hope and pray. Well maybe nothing that dramatic, but it is a pretty big week. Tuesday morning I'm taking my PMP (project management professional) exam and Wednesday we find out if Richie passed the bar. So yeah a pretty big week with hopefully a celebration just as big this weekend!

Busy, Busy, Busy

Sorry for yet another dry spell without any posts. Things have been a little crazy the past couple of weeks. First it was my birthday, then it was a wedding (and all sorts of other excitement), now I'm studying for my PMP (project manager professional) exam, and next I'll be trying to fit in the other 50 books on my 100 in 2010 list. But no fear, sometime this week I will be posting pictures and stories from our insane weekend of driving in the rain, white water rafting, riding roller coasters after dark, going to a beautiful wedding, and running my 9th half-marathon.
