From the Journal of a Fun Starved Girl

Over the past four months as I've been working a lot of hours on a daily basis. I'm not complaining because I love what I'm doing but just stating the facts :) Because of the longer hours, I've started to keep a semi-regular (like once a week) journal because it's easier to write in my own personal journal than here. Especially about personal things. But every once in a while those journal entries can also translate to my much neglected blog. Today's entry is one of those that will maybe give you a little perspective as to how my summer has been thus far.

I remembered something today - I used to (and still do I'm learning) really like to play. I used to go out and do things. I used to play and be silly. This weekend I did that for the first time in weeks, well months really, and I've missed it. My mind kept trying to drift back to work because that's all it has known this summer, and I kept forcing it back to the task at hand - having fun and enjoying the company of the people around me.

It was much more difficult than it should have been, but I'm going to start slowly weaning myself off of work so that next time I have a fun weekend full of good friends and fun, it won't be like I'm experiencing something new. It will feel like it is supposed to - natural.

Sad, I know. My summer project ends this week. I'll be back soon. I promise.
