The Best Way to Spend $100

I want to know who came up with the idea of paying someone to run? Yeah you get a technical shirt, a medal, and the experience of racing the race- but is that all really worth $100? I think it's a little ridiculous, but what's a girl to do?

So I did it. $100 later, I'm officially signed up for the Country Music Half-Marathon on April 25th. I've got a month of training left and am way behind where I normally am, but I'm not one to waste $100 (okay maybe I am). So four weeks from Saturday I'll be running my fourth half-marathon with my dad and 15-year old sister (oh and not to mention the other 23,000 runners). I don't have any time goal at this point, just a goal to finish because it's been 2 1/2 years since my last race. And I think that's a good goal.

Here's the proof. No turning back now. I'm doing it this time. Now I'm off for a quick 3-miler.

ha it is definitely a little ridiculous to think what we spend just on "Registering" for the race. BUT that one will be so much fun!!!

and welcome back!! :)

Half Marathons are the best way to spend your money! The crowds, the energy, and the medal of course is all worth it! I'm soooooooooooo very excited for you! Train hard!

Ran about 3 1/2 miles last night and my legs were travel weary. It was a hard run. Hope yours was better. Dad

I remember when I signed up for my half I was like, "I just paid $100 to run 13 miles! Are you kidding me?"

It's so worth it. You are going to have a great time! Good Luck!

I have to tell you how much I admire you! I say that I only run when someone is chasing me, I really don't think that I could endure any kind of marathon, no matter how long! So I think you are awesome! Good luck with your training! And I want to see pics on race day!

Yay! Congrats! It's seriously SUCH a fun race, and I'm definitely disappointed I'm not in shape to run it this year. You are going to have a blast! Have you been at Nashville before? If not, let me know and I'll toss out some recs of things you might want to do while you're here. Where are you staying? Fee free to email me at melanie0513 [at] gmail [dot] com

PS-THis IS the best way to spend $100. I heart nashville so much it's not even funny. I've done the 1/2 marathon twice and will be going next year. I've missed the city and the race too much in the past two years that I can't wait any longer. Good luck and kick some butt!
