WFMW: Bargain Book Shopping

I absolutely hate paying full price for books especially when there are things like PaperBackSwap, Amazon, and Half.com out there. But I love book stores. One of my favorite things to do is to go into book stores and read the backs, magazines, and look at articles in different books. But my favorite thing about bookstores is the bargain book section. I don't think I've ever been to a bookstore that doesn't have one, and they have some great prices on some really great books that you may not have found otherwise. Some of my favorite recent finds are:

  • How to Clean Your Home Fast (for Busy Moms) for $2.99
  • 365 Slowcooker Recipes for $2.99
  • The Adventures of Frog and Toad (a collection of all of their adventures) for $7

And those are just the ones I've found in the past week. So next time you're at the mall or near a bookstore pop in and check out their shelves of bargain books. They are normally much cheaper than buying them used online (especially after paying for shipping) and brand new. I almost always pick up one book. It definitely works for me. For more great tips, check out Shannon's Works for Me Wednesday!

Sounds like some great
finds! The Frog and Toad
series collection,
especially! Woop woop!

I'm the worst bargain
shopper...I need to
learn to be better.
And thanks to you, I'll
be checking out these places
to look for books!

I posted about the Half Price Bookstore today. I love, love, love books and when you get them for a bargain it is great.

I knew we were going to be friends when I saw the word "books" in your WFMW post! I am a book addict. My husband picks that my boys have more books than toys. When we travel we don't look for playlands or gas stations to stop at for bathroom breaks... we look for book stores!

I love the bargain shelf at the bookstores. I love the fact that they have all genres of books on display. Thanks for this!

Uh-oh . . . I wrote a WFMW about NEVER buying books a few weeks ago, but if there really are such great deals out there, I may have to give in one day.

You may be interested in our blog carnival over at the Green Baby Guide . . . it starts tomorrow, and the theme is "Thrifty Green Thursday." You sound pretty thrifty, so I thought I'd let you know!
