I've got a little secret that I learned from my mom growing up. No matter how dirty your house is, how gross the weather is outside, or how ugly you feel- fresh flowers (or anything else pretty and fresh) always helps make things better. It always works for me. And don't feel bad about buying flowers for yourself, they really make everything just a little bit brighter. And hey you can always pretend that someone else bought them right.
Here's my most recent addition to our home decor. I got these bright pink daisies for $2.99 at HT. It definitely adds that needed pop of color to our black table and makes me smile anytime I walk by.
So that's my secret. I buy myself flowers- a lot. And for me $2.99 is worth having something to smile about every time I walk into the door. For me, fresh flowers make me smile. What's your secret pleasure?

My secret pleasure? When I am feeling ugly, I buy a new lipgloss. Putting a little bit of color on my lips brightens my mood.

I totally agree. Also, having a vase of flowers inspires me more to keep things neat, I don't know why. "No Marie, you can't just leave your coffee cup there all day, the flowers forbid it!"
I prefer to buy my own flowers. I like wildflowers, and Brad always gets me neon arrangements of roses and carnations with baby's breath. Yuck!

hmmmm... my secret pleasure is nap time! The kids, that is... it's my one time in the day I have for myself. Even if I am doing laundry while they sleep, there is still peace!
