Summer Reading List
So many of the blogs that I read have been posting their summer book list so I thought I'd join in. So as part of the summer reading extravaganza, here's at least part of (I'm sure there will be more) the books I want to read this summer. They are all sitting on a stack next to my bed waiting to be read. For some reason, even though nothing really changes during the summer, it seems like I have a lot more free time to read now.

Next on my list is "Love the One You're With" by Emily Giffin. It should be a very light chick read and I can't wait! I also read more during the summer - maybe it's the longer days?
The Other Boleyn Girl sounds good, and I have heard lots of good things about Poisonwood Bible.
How did you come up with your list? Are they just books that come across your way or are most recommendations?
I just finished Blowout by Catherine Coulter it was a fast read I liked reading Fannie Flag for Summer because her books are full of fun quirky characters
I love The Other Boleyn Girl. It's hard to get into, but once you do, you won't be able to put it down.
I can't wait for Breaking Dawn! I'm so pumped for August to get here!
Kara~I just read Love the One You're with and loved it!
My all time favorite summer read is either Jamima J by Jane Green or Can You Keep a Secret by Sophie Kinsella.
You'll have to let me know how the other books are!
I've read The Other Boleyn Girl, which is long, but good.
I really want to start the Twilight series. I haven't heard of anyone who doesn't love those books.
Favorite summer reads? Anything by Nicholas Sparks. I love his books, and they are pretty easy reads.
I've read A Thousand Splendid Suns and it was so good. Sometimes you can find the person who loves you the most in the strangest place.
For light summer reading, anything by Marian Keyes or Maeve Binchy. I'd also recommend the book I'm reading right now, Thief of Time by Terry Pratchett. It seems light and is funny, but also deep and abstract.
Marley and Me is so cute. It's funny and touching. You'll like it!
I haven't read any of those! I might have to explore! Thanks. :)
I haven't read any of those, but as you know, I'll be reading 4 of them this summer. I'm not really one to read "light" reading, though I suppose the Circle Trilogy is relatively light. It's just not fluffy. I read the whole thing over vacation last week.
Ooh, The Other Boleyn Girl is Sooo good. Hope you like it!
"A Thousand Splendid Suns" is AMAZING. I loved that book. And I'm also reading "Breaking Dawn." VERY excited. :)
I haven't read any on your list, but I certainly intend to! And I LOVE "heavy" books if you mean meaty and long! Gone With the Wind is one of my all-time favorites (1,000 pages) and the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon (1,000-1,500 pages plus) is to die for.
And, OMIGOSH, thank you for including my debut novel, A Passion Most Pure, on your list!! I am awed and humbled to be in the company of so many great authors. You made my day.
Hugs,
Julie
The Other Boleyn Girl
is great! Love it.
I hope you didn't see
the movie, though.
The book should DEF
be read before viewing
the big screen drama.
The Pact is super intense!
I read it in one night...
because I just need to
find out what happened next.
I seriously couldn't put it
down. However, it's extremely
disturbing. Not one of my
favorites by Jodi...but still
a good read!
I just finished a great light summer read by Kathryn Springer called The Prince Charming List. It is the third book in the Pritchett series. The whole series is great chick-lit. :)
All time favorite light reads:
The Perfect Manhattan by Leanne Shear
The Washingtonienne by Jessica Cutler
Singletini by Amanda Trimble
Any chick-lit book is a good summer read.
Oh, and I think I'd rather make my own cupcakes rather than spend $3(!!!) on just one.
I loved Marley & Me. I also have The Other Boleyn Girl on my list to read this summer. I am currently reading Bitter is the New Black and my next one is Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult.
The only one of those I've actually read is Breaking Dawn. I have issues with Stephenie Meyer because she's not that great of a writer, but her books are always entertaining. And long! :) I should probably read The Other Boleyn Girl - my friend Holly has been telling me for ages how wonderful it is.
