Okay so I'll say now that I'm really glad David Cook won. I've been rooting for him since I knew the finale would be a David vs. David showdown like in week five.
- This is by far my number one comment on the evening- Who the heck dressed Jordin Sparks? Someone on the radio commented that she looked like a Willy Wonka golden ticket and I completely agree.
- Carrie Underwood is still my favorite Idol followed by Kelly Clarkson. She really has become a star. I felt bad for Jordin for having to sing right before her. They are in different leagues.
- The show could have and should have been thirty minutes long.
- There were too many outdated singers and not enough new acts. I skipped basically the entire first 90 minutes of the show.
- David Archuleta cannot pull off the risky business commercial. DC on the other hand...
- DA should have been singing more up to date songs all season long, and he would've had a much better shot at winning. I really enjoyed his "Apologize" performance- probably more than any other song he's sang all year. Probably because I actually knew the song.
- Jason Castro should stick to his own stuff. He was struggling to get out "Summer of '69". I felt bad for him.
- How come Sanjaya gets to continue coming back? Somehow he's always there. I guess maybe he doesn't have anything better to do than watch Idol.
- They ruined the "You Are My Brother" song by adding in the USC band and cheerleaders. You couldn't even hear the song.
Well I'm sure I had a lot of other thoughts but these are the only major ones coming to my head right now. What'd you think of last night's show? Did you even watch?

I started the show late so I could FF through the crap I didn't want to see and the recording literally stopped right before Ryan announced the winner. Fox really screwed that one up! Luckily it was only a few minutes past 10, so I saw DC singing and put the two together.
I love him! I can't wait to see what he does. I agree with you on everything.
This is Dad. I thought they did a good mix of old versus new on the show (you've got to remember that as many 30-50 years old watch as teenies). They had the Jonas Bros, Carrie/Jordin, Apology, etc. But really liked watching Cook play with ZZ Top and Brook sing with Graham Nash (both favorite songs of mine).
It was pretty clear that Jason is out of his element. And I'm not upset at all that Amanda won't be going on the tour. Surprised that Kristy Lee did not get a solo song.
We laughed our head off with David A's version of the Risky Business scene. Did you notice that he was wearing shorts? It was great.
Long-term, I think David Cook needs to be the lead singer of a band. Great rockers were never meant to be headliners. It's usually about the band.
Long-term, I personally think Archuletta has the better voice. I thought he sang Apology better than the original artist. And it really is remarkable that he is only 17, a junior in high school. You see girls have that type of success early...but it is very rare for boys. If they do have early success (Donny, Stevie and Michael), you never know what's going to happen after puberty. He could be destined to be this generation's crooner if he plays his cards right. Dad
I too think A is the better singer but glad Cook is the idol-- Carrie is so goooood - Jordan is sweet--ditto to your dad I had almost all the same feelings-- the mix of old stars Loved the ZZ Tops and Brooke/Nash --Jason-- Amanda-- we said that last night too w/ David Cook and a band--we enjoyed the Risky Business Commercial and wondered what DA's dad thought of the underwear - did not notice they different than Tom C's cause I never saw the movie just lots of references over the years -- I missed the Seal performance--It was Fun to watch it all
jordin sparks should hire a new stylist. for reals.
I agree with you on every single point.
My biggest pet peeve with the finale. Just get on with it we all know it is only so long so you can sell advertisements, seriously overdrawn!
I did not watch this season but I followed the other seasons. I have to agree that Carrie Underwood is my favorite winner thus far. I just do not care for Jordin Sparks' new song!
can i just say about how i watched it on DVR and right as after Ryan said, "and the winner is...." it STOPPED! my roommate and i both screamed in horror at the TV. luckly we were just 5 minutes behind and quickly turned on FOX to see it being replayed...but wow, it was SO FRUSTRATING!
I never could get into AI. At least I never watch it after it gets serious. I like watching the auditions then it gets boring.
Carrie, Kelly and Chris Daughtry are my fav by far! Carrie is looking too skinny though!
I felt bad for Jordin, that dress really was not suitable for her!
Yes, Jordin needs a new stylist! Yes, Carrie is still the greatest (and she's coming to Cincy next year- wanna come???!?!?!) Yes, there were too many old singers (What happened to George Michael??? I can listen to him but I just couldn't watch him!!!) Yes, David C is good, but I was really rooting for David A! He's so good, but he'll have a great career anyway! Okay, anything else! Nope! (I thought the You Are My Brother was hilarious with the band! Did he know that they were totally making fun of him?!?!?!) Oh, and I loved the skit with the Love Guru! So funny!!!!! Alright- that's my input!
yahhh im glad you are a david cook fan! i love Daughtry too!!!!
and i def agre on jordin sparks...ugh!haahha
and i totally loved the risky business/guitar hero commercial..minus archuletta's try..david cook on the other hand ;)hehh
I never watch the results shows because they put so much filler in there, and all I want to know his who is getting voted off, or in this case who won! But YAY on David Cook.
