Works for Me Wednesday #24: Reusing Snack Cracker Boxes

So this week, my WFMW tip is a pretty simple one. I don't know about you, but we eat a lot of snack crackers. We eat everything from Kashi 7-grain to the good old Cheese-Itz. We probably go through at least a box of crackers a week. Instead of throwing away the boxes, I'll keep them and use them anytime I need to send a package. They work great because you can just take the bag out and normally the box is very clean inside.

Books fit great. I use it all the time for sending books for PaperBackSwap. I'll put a book or two in the box, toss in a crumpled up paper towel to keep the book from moving around too much, and tape the box up. Apply a shipping label to the front of the box, and voila, you've got your own package without having to pay for a box at the post office. It really is a great way to recycle your otherwise trashed boxes. I'm sure there are a lot of other things you can do with snack boxes, but this works for me.

oooooh! I like this tip! I enjoy paper back book swap and this would be a great way to send books! Do you wrap the box or just stick a label right on it????

what a great tip. Where do you store the boxes?

Thats a great idea. I'm always trying to rig something for paperback swap books.

Instead of paper towels envelopes from mail could also work too. I shred anything with info on it, but the outer and inner envelopes with bills and credit card offers are usually blank.

Wow, I like this idea! I bet cereal boxes would work, too. I usually just use shoe boxes.

This is such a great idea! Just this morning I was wondering how I could mail some books--and I go through Kashi crackers like you wouldn't believe.
