- We don't like tomatoes because of the texture.
- We can't stand the sound/touch of stryafoam or cotton balls out of the medicine bottle.
- We like to have something bready with our meat- the meat is just an afterthought.
- We only eat out of necessity; we don't really like it and could go a long time without a meal if it were an option.
- We love hot water- almost scalding- in our showers and baths.
- We like spinach cold but not cooked.
- We like and need crunchy snacks more than any other type of food
- We don't particularly like solid chocolate; we love chocolate covered things, especially nuts.
- We can't do only one thing at a time when there are things that need to be done (multi-tasking)
- We think any drink tastes better in a glass.
- We are very cautious/defensive drivers. Somehow we've both gotten multiple speeding tickets- oops.
- We are very creative but not very artistic.
- It's very hard for either of us to spend money on clothes or other things for ourselves.
P.S. Stay tuned this weekend for details on my adventures in Kansas City (aka Carrie/Keith Concert) now that I finally got the pictures.

I CAN"T stand styrafoam either. It's like kryptonite...yUCK!
I'm w/all of you on Styro and any drink IS definitely better in a glass
My daughter and I both hate peas, both love menudo, are crazy about very dark, strong, sweet coffee... and we were born at the same time. Sorta. I'm 12:41 am and she's 12:41 pm. Great TT!
Very interesting. I wonder how many of those likes and dislikes you learned from your mother, and how many you developed on your own.
There aren't many things on planet Earth that are more revolting than the texture of a tomato. :)
You know, I have to put drinks in glasses, too. Like, I cannot drink soda from a can.
I finally completed the meme that you tagged me with!
I agree about the tomatoes (though I don't like the taste either), styrofoam (I'm cringing just thinking about it!), the bread/meat thing, and spinach (why ruin vegetables by cooking them?). I'm glad that others agree with me on these things!
I am with you on the drinking from the glass!
Sounds like you had a good time with your mom. I bet you were glad to see her again even though you were just there recently!

Isn't mom-bonding fun?
My mom and I have in common that we have NO PROBLEM spending waaaay too much money on ourselves. It may not be a useful attribute.
Let me add a few more to your list...
14) You both love the internet and immediately head to the computer as soon as you get home
15) You both think you are cautious/defensive drivers...but it is a misguided belief. Especially when Mom is on the trail of a hot garage sale. Cautious drivers are not caught going nearly 100 mph on a road trip.
15a) And don't get me going about how both of you drive when you're talking on your cellphone....which seems to be about 90% of the time behind the wheel.
15b) Both of you are cautious with regard to sport vehicles... high speed go-carts, ATVs, jet skis, etc.
16) You are both excellent at organizing something. You really sweat the details well. People love to have you in charge of their party/project/girl's camp because they know it will be done right.
17) However, neither of you can make a decision to save your life.
18) Both of you are great pounce players and love to players other players' card for them.
19) Although both of you know how to ski, neither or you really seem to enjoy it. I suspect it is because of the giving up "control" issue that Mom talks about (top of mind since me and the "boys" just got off a ski vacation).
20) You both love to shop but hate to buy (at least using your own money). You will buy something for yourself only if you feel it is a inexpensive "find."
20a) You both seem to enjoy it when I am with you and I am buying (seems to take the guilt away).
21) You both were high school volleyball players and you both are great setters. I hit my best when one of the two of you is setting me.
22) You both are New Country fanatics...but neither of you really has any interest in old country outside of Kenny Rogers.
23) You talk to each other at least twice a day.
24) You both like similar types of soups...creamy over brothy... either in a bread bowl or with bread on the side for dipping. You both are bed hogs. And, I suspect, both like "contact" with your husband when you're sleeping.
25) When you have a project going (which is 100% of the time), you are both disasters waiting to happen. You usually find time to clean-up, but that time is usually 10 days after the fact.
26) And I love you both.
Dad
Interesting list -- I'm totally with you on cotton balls.
I'll be moving to KC this summer. I might need your help! (even though you don't really know me...) LOL! :)
Hey, I slipped some spinach in a tortilla wrap today and it went down EASILY! I get this organic spinach and it's so crunchy that salad is unappealing to me. Need a good spinach dressing! Got one?
I always knew you and your mom were a lot alike but after reading your dad's post I was laughing out loud! Isn't it great to have a mom you have so much in common with? My mom and I are the same way... we even say the same sentences at the same time! Forget finishing sentences, we start them! What a great list!
Your Dad's post is too cute! Don't you just love parents! They are the greatest! And I have to say, it sounds like Dad knows you both pretty well! Enjoyed this one!
