As part of the huge bloggy giveaway carnival a little while back, I got the ebook SuperMom's Simple Guide for Healthier Eating. I finally finished reading it this weekend and am determined to start eating healthier. It goes along really well with my challenge. If you are trying to eat better but aren't sure where to start, this book is for you. I really liked the setup of the book. It goes through some very important healthy eating tips and then explains simple ways to incorporate those changes into your life so it's not too overwhelming. Simple things like only drinking juice at breakfast and mixing half whole grain and half white pasta together. As she explains in her book, it really is the baby steps that count when it comes to making changes in our lives. The book also includes some great recipes to help make those changes even easier like homemade pancakes, waffles, and granola for breakfast. Another thing that I absolutely loved about the book was how encouraging it was. She never says that it won't be hard to change the way you eat, but her writing uses statements like, "You can do it," and, "Go for it," to make it seem like you really can do it. She explains that it's okay if you mess up once in a while, you can always do better the next day, which I love because I'm prone to mess up- especially when it comes to wheat to eat.
The other thing that I absolutely loved about the book was the fact that it's not a diet book, it really is a eat better to live better type book. It's filled with tips and tricks to make eating healthier, not to remove food from your life completely. It really is full of very simple ways to make your life healthier. I definitely recommend it to anyone that is looking for some simple baby steps to change the way you eat. You can buy the book here.
Oh and by the way, I decided that if I was going to review the book, I needed to at least try some of the recipes. I tried out the quick (15 minute) homemade granola recipe last night, and it was a very yummy (and healthy) breakfast for today. I'm excited to try out some more of the recipes this week.
I'll be back later with a healthy menu plan for this week.

I still want to know why milk is bad for you? And if it is bad for you, are other dairy products like cheese and yogurt also bad for you??
